    Also, thanks for the defense of “y’all” in a recent podcast. As a native Texan and an English major, I have felt defensive about that term in the past. Then I realized the same thing you pointed out, that modern English lacks distinctive singular and plural second-person pronouns, so “y’all fills a void. It was *so* nice to hear someone who’s not from this region vindicate its usage.
