This is only tangential related to the Age of Innocence but has been on my mind lately. The music played between the book talk and the book reminds me of the waltz at the beginning of Carousel. Carousel is also set in the 1870’s but it takes place in Maine and follows and entirely different group of people. I’ve been thinking about the differences between these two stories.
