    Just a thought, but I wanted to agree about Tristan’s sword separating him from Isolde. In Viking myth, pre-Christianity, it was a sign for a man and woman remaining… pure?… for a night (or whatever.) I made the same assumption when I listened to Tristan and Isolde the first time.
