• The audiobook of Wolf Hall is second only to Bleak House (the Audible version read by a female/male duo), IMHO.

• Austen’s Henry VIII quote: *”The Crimes & Cruelties of [Henry VIII], were too numerous to be mentioned, (as this history I trust has fully shewn;) & nothing can be said in his vindication, but that his abolishing Religious Houses & leaving them to the ruinous depredations of time has been of infinite use to the landscape of England in general, which probably was a principal motive for his doing it, since otherwise why should a Man who was of no Religion himself be at so much trouble to abolish one which had for ages been established in the Kingdom.”
• Walden Witch House, (I remembered some of the story correctly.)

A vertical HDR panorama of the Witch’s House in Beverly Hills. A fine example of “storybook” architecture, the “Witch’s House” was built in 1921 by Oscar-nominated art director Harry Oliver. The building originally served as offices and dressing rooms for Culver City-based Willat Studio, which made silent films. Sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s, the building was moved to Beverly Hills, where it has been used as a private home ever since. The house, which once featured a moat (now dry), supposedly acquired it’s nickname when a previous owner passed out candy at Halloween dressed as a witch. At any rate, it looks like a place Hansel and Gretel should avoid

HELLO!

I’m Heather Ordover

Hi there and welcome!
I'm glad you found our little corner of the internet. It's a safe place to hang out, listen to a good book, and maybe get a little crafty while you do.
CraftLit has been going (almost) weekly since 2006 so we have quite a few books in our Library for you. If one isn't to your liking, I'm sure you'll find another that is.
Relax and let your ears do the reading for a bit.
