CraftLit has enjoyed (or is enjoying) TWO fabulous Dumas novels: The Count of Monte Cristo (start ep 402) and The Three Musketeers (start ep. 610).
Responding to a racist jerk, Dumas once said: “My father was a mulatto, my grandfather was a Negro, and my great-grandfather a monkey. You see, Sir, my family starts where yours ends.”
• And for those of you lucky enough to read French:“Mon père était un mulâtre, mon grand-père était un nègre et mon arrière grand-père un singe. Vous voyez, Monsieur: ma famille commence où la vôtre finit.”
